This is a simplified recipe for the classic homemade mac and cheese! The creamy cheese sauce is made by boiling the macaroni in milk in one pot.
Ingredients
500 mL Milk
170 g Macaroni
100 g Cheddar Cheese
20 g Unsalted Butter
½ Tsp Salt
⅛ Tsp Ground Black Pepper
Method
1. Bring a pot of water (1000 mL) to a boil. Add salt (½ tbsp) and macaroni (170 g) and cook over medium heat for 5 min. Drain the macaroni and set it aside.

2. Melt unsalted butter (20 g) in a pot, add milk (500 g) and the partially cooked macaroni back to the pot. Season it with salt (½ tsp) and ground black pepper (⅛ tsp) and then simmer over medium heat for 8 min, stirring occasionally.

3. Remove the pot from heat, add cheddar cheese (100 g), and stir until all the cheese has melted and is well incorporated.
