Steamed Egg Custard With Milk

Steamed egg custard with milk is a popular dessert in Hong Kong and Guangdong province. It is a delicious dessert amongst all ages and extremely easy to make and could be served hot or cold!


  • 1 Egg White

  • 150 mL Milk

  • 1 Tbsp Condensed Milk



1. Separate egg white (1 pc) from egg yolk, mix with milk (150 mL) and condensed milk (1 tbsp).

2. Strain the egg mixture through a sieve.

3. Cover with foil, steam at medium heat for 15 min.



  • Condensed milk can enhance the milk flavour of the custard. However, it could be replaced by sugar.

  • Covering the bowl with foil during steaming can prevent water from condensing back to the surface of the milk custard.
