Steamed Matcha Cakes

Steamed matcha cake is a Japanese-style sweet bun. The soft and fluffy steamed cake is not only nutritious and healthy, but also super quick and simple to make!


  • 70 g Plain Flour

  • 1 Egg

  • 3 Tbsp Milk

  • 2 Tbsp White Sugar

  • 1 Tbsp Matcha Powder

  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder



1. Add all-purpose flour (70 g), matcha powder (1 tbsp), baking powder (1 tsp), and white sugar (2 tbsp) into a bowl and mix well.

2. Stir in eggs (1 unit), milk (3 tbsp), and vegetable oil (1 tbsp), and mix all the ingredients until there is no dry flour left.

3. Evenly distributing the batter into four ramekins with paper cake cups, and steam over high heat for 10 minutes and serve.
